Taking a look inside..

CHURCH – POLITICS – CRIME

Sing praises unto God, sing praises! The truth is, Bahamians are church-goers.
Do not be fooled by our partying, consumption of alcoholic beverages and gambling. At the end of the day, we always find our way to the doors of the church. Now to be completely honest, the attendance amount is not where it should be. The members in some churches are slowly declining.
In The Bahamas, we have a hand full of churches. The denominations represented consist of baptist, anglican, catholic, Jehovah witness, non – denominational, seven day Adventist and the list goes on.
It is sad I have to say this, however, churches experience an increase in members during special occasions. These special occasions consist of new years, easter, funerals, weddings christenings, and Christmas. A number of Bahamians take the, “Sunday is a day of rest” too seriously and sleep in during the service hours.

Now, do you want juice and gossip from the hot tropics? Politics is where it is ALL at! I can no longer sugar coat, but the political system in The Bahamas is not the best.
In all honesty, they need to do better because the lack of inadequate governance is evident in our country. POINT! BLANK! PERIOD! In The Bahamas, we operate on a system of democracy. There are three major parties known as the Democratic National Alliance (DND), the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) and the Free National Movement (FNM). Each party has a leader and under the leader, there are Members of Parliament (MP’s).
Each five years, elections are held. Each governing party has a tendency of saying numerous amounts of lavish things, however, they do not live up to the standards. When the elected ;arty gets in government, they let the people down. Through the campaigning time, we hear a plethora of wishes. However, these wishes never come to life. Th young generation has been trying to get their food into the door in politics, however, Bahamians dislike change. Change? It is NO LONGER something we want, but what WE NEED.
Who did they kill?

Indeed, every country has crime. In my opinion, the only place without crime is heaven. The crime rate in The Bahamas is significantly high.
I want to let you in on a little secret to the murders that take place. The majority of crimes that happen in The Bahamas, take place as an act of revenge.
For example, if you kill my cousin, I will retaliate by killing your nephew. The violence that happens is usually retaliation from a previous murder. Sadly there are a few cases where innocent people get caught in the fire. However, it is rare for the average person to be a target for crime.
